The Manager’s Toolbox
This training program is designed to help supervisors, managers, and those on a management career path, develop or enhance their supervisory skills. These six (6) monthly 2½ hour sessions are delivered in a group setting and designed to help improve productivity, increase customer satisfaction scores, and help raise the comfort level of those in a supervisory role.
The program begins with an online DiSC Assessment of each participant to help them understand their own behavioral style and learn best practices for communicating with other behavioral styles.
We will cover the 5 core management functions:
- Planning
- Organizing
- Leading
- Controlling
- Coordinating
We will also explore the management skills needed to be an effective leader and run an effective department or team.
We will focus on the Time Management skills managers need to become more organized and productive so they can get the job done. Participants will learn how to change a “to-do” list from a list of work, to a productive action plan with time estimates and built in contingencies for “time robbers.”
We will teach managers how to develop their staff at every point in their career, starting at the beginning with the interview process. Effective hiring requires effective preparation to help select the best candidate for your organization.
Once an employee is on board, managers need to know how to set expectations by using SMART Goals and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to track progress.
Throughout the employee’s tenure, managers need to adopt the most professional posture, while calmly addressing performance issues. They will learn how to conduct effective staff and one on one meetings and learn six simple steps for Performance Management.
We will help managers deliver Effective Performance Appraisals that will motivate employees to improve their performance and productivity through improved two-way communications.
At the end of the program, it is expected that the participants will:
- Learn best practices for communicating as a manager
- Understand what your responsibilities are as a supervisor
