The Board Workshop: How to Become a High Performing Nonprofit Board provided by TEC Resource Center was terrific! The presenters were extremely experienced and knowledgeable about their topics and the workshop covered numerous subjects ranging from the basic responsibilities of nonprofit boards to how to communicate more effectively with other Board members. We got at least 10 actionable ideas about how to improve our effectiveness as a Board and as an organization. Some of those ideas we can implement immediately, such as giving new members a mentor on the Board so we make sure we develop that relationship in the most effective way possible. Other ideas such as the importance of setting expectations for Board membership, such as a certain level of financial commitment, will have a positive impact on our organization for years to come. We would recommend the Workshop and TEC Resource Center to any nonprofit that wants to raise its game and become a more effective organization."
